Japanese - self-introduction
Hello, I have been teaching English in Japan for more than 20 years, and I like Japan very much. Here in Tokyo, I applied for some different (non-teaching) jobs recently, and was told I need to improve my spoken Japanese.
I want to be JLPT, N3, level by the end of this year. Is that possible? I have never taken the JLPT exam.
I have been living in Japan for a very long time (I have permanent residence) so I do understand some Japanese....but I have never had a teacher... I only learnt Japanese from watching TV, and trying to communicate in situations, such as at restaurant, shopping, hair salon. My Japanese level is therefore, very basic. In my job, home life, and with my Japanese friends, I always speak English. I would really like someone to correct my Japanese / and tell me the correct way to speak Japanese. My Japanese friends do not correct me, as a chat with friends is a different situation to talking, when we pay for lesson. I would like a teacher to guide me, from beginner to advanced. Maybe we can use JLPT textbooks? Or, if you have a suggested method / idea, of how to improve, please tell me. I am happy if you use English to explain, (please translate), when I do not understand. - Japanese level
